Bret Boyles has more than a decade of political and policy experience in both Washington, D.C. and capital cities throughout the southeast.
Mr. Boyles joined Patton Boggs through the firm’s acquisition of the Breaux-Lott Leadership Group where he served as a founding member since its inception. While at BLLG, Boyles helped grow the startup company to one of the top 20 most successful lobby firms in Washington, D.C. In addition, Boyles has helped clients develop political and policy strategies on a range of issues before Congress and state houses.
Before joining BLLG, Mr. Boyles served as chief of staff to Senator Trent Lott, starting his job the day Katrina landed ashore in the Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Boyles served as chief of staff during Senator Lott’s election to Republican Whip in 2006 and until his retirement in 2007.
Prior to that, Mr. Boyles served as executive director of the New Republican Majority Fund, a political action committee that has been instrumental in electing republicans to the House, Senate and various state elected positions throughout the United States. In addition, he was also president of his own consulting firm, Principle Strategies Group.
Early in his career, Mr. Boyles served as a legislative assistant to Senate Majority Leader Lott on issues specific to the commerce and banking committees. Boyles maintains very strong relationships throughout Capitol Hill.
Twice Mr. Boyles’ work has been recognized by Roll Call, naming him to the “Fabulous 50″ list for his access to law makers, ability to drive results and legislative know-how.
